Sharon Appelbaum Named to Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2026 Women of Influence: Attorneys List

Sharon Appelbaum, founder of Appelbaum Law, P.C., has been recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal as one of its 2026 Women of Influence: Attorneys.

The annual recognition honors exceptional women attorneys whose legal skill, leadership, professional achievements, and contributions to the Los Angeles community have made a meaningful impact on the profession. Appelbaum was selected for her work representing individuals and businesses in high-stakes criminal matters, government investigations, and complex white collar defense cases.

According to the Los Angeles Business Journal, Appelbaum’s work reflects “a rare combination of courtroom advocacy, investigative strategy, and crisis management.” The publication further noted that her practice is defined by “early intervention, strategic clarity, and the ability to change the trajectory of a case before it fully develops.”

A former prosecutor with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, Appelbaum focuses her practice on white collar criminal defense, government investigations, regulatory enforcement matters, and complex criminal litigation. She regularly represents executives, business owners, healthcare professionals, licensed professionals, and organizations facing federal and state investigations.

The Los Angeles Business Journal profile highlighted Appelbaum’s recent dismissal of murder and conspiracy charges carrying potential life exposure after successfully challenging the prosecution’s reliance on digital evidence. The publication also recognized her ability to identify strategic opportunities early in a matter and develop effective defense strategies before charges are filed or cases fully develop.

“Many clients come to us before charges are filed, when uncertainty is at its highest and the stakes are often life-changing,” said Appelbaum. “Our role is to bring clarity to difficult situations, develop a strategic path forward, and protect our clients’ futures.”

The recognition adds to a growing list of honors Appelbaum has received for her work in criminal defense and white collar investigations, including recognition by the Los Angeles Times as a Legal Visionary, selection to the Daily Journal’s Top White Collar Lawyers list, and recognition by Doyle’s Guide for Criminal Defense and White Collar Investigations.
